Choosing an MM2H agent
You cannot apply for MM2H yourself. A MOTAC-licensed agent is compulsory, which makes agent selection the highest-risk decision in the process. Government participation fees are fixed and public; agent fees are not.
Because the intermediary is compulsory rather than optional, the agent ends up holding your documents and often your money. Most licensed agents are competent. The complaints that surface cluster around a small number of avoidable failures.

Fees that are fixed, and fees that are not

Agents must appear on the official register. The agent's own fee is separate and varies. A quote that bundles both into one number prevents you from checking whether the government portion has been marked up.

My Second Home does not recommend, rank, or accept any fee from any MM2H agent. We do not maintain a preferred list, because a preferred list is a product and products create incentives. Verify the licence yourself against the official register — see our independence.
Common questions
Do I need an agent for MM2H?
Yes. Direct applications are not accepted. Every MM2H application must be submitted by a company licensed by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture. Because the intermediary is compulsory, verifying the licence before paying anything is the single most important step in the process.
How much do MM2H agents charge?
Agent fees vary and are not set by government. The government government fee is fixed: RM 1,000 for Silver and Forest City SEZ, RM 3,000 for Gold, and RM 200,000 for Platinum. A legitimate quote itemises the government fee separately from the agent's own fee.
