Privacy notice

By Robin Ooi Updated 3 min read

We collect an email address only if you give us one, use it only for what you asked for, and delete it on request. The pathway finder stores nothing.

The pathway finder

The tool on the homepage runs entirely in your browser. Your age, capital and income are not transmitted to us, not logged, and not stored. Close the tab and they are gone.

Email

If you request a report, we collect your email address and the answers you chose to include. We use it to send what you asked for and, if you consent separately, occasional updates when the rules change. We do not sell or rent it. Every message carries an unsubscribe link that works.

Your rights

Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act and, if you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR, you may request access to the data we hold about you, correction of it, or its deletion. Write to us via the contact page and we will action it.

Legal basis and retention

  • Basis: your explicit consent, given at the point you submit the form.
  • Retention: until you unsubscribe or request deletion, whichever is first.
  • Transfers: our email provider may process data outside Malaysia. Consent to that is part of the consent you give when subscribing.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to see which pages get read and where visitors come from. It sets a small number of cookies to do that, and we have turned off ad-personalisation signals and IP sharing for advertising — so it measures traffic, it does not build an advertising profile of you and we do not use it to serve or target ads.

You can block these cookies in your browser without affecting anything else on the site. We do not run any other advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share this data with anyone outside Google's standard analytics processing.

Common questions

Does My Second Home store the answers I put into the pathway finder?

No. The pathway finder runs entirely in your browser. The age, capital and income values you set are never transmitted to us, logged, or stored anywhere.

Does this site use Google Analytics?

Yes. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and where visitors come from. We have turned off ad-personalisation signals and IP sharing for advertising, so it is used to measure traffic rather than to build an advertising profile or target ads. You can block Analytics cookies in your browser without affecting anything else on the site.
